Dyson (click here for a link) is a rather unique single player game. It is a nice departure from military themed RTS (real time stratagy) games. This game is pretty good for the kids as there is no exploding heads or the such. The installer is about 25 mb.

America's Army (click here for link) is the FPS (first person shooter) developed and made by the U.S. ARMY. It strives for realism and authenticy in nearly every aspect. The game has gotten a HUGE makeover with the 3rd version being released. Definately worth the download but you have to have high speed internet to play the multiplayer.

 

F.E.A.R.Combat (click here for link) is the free multiplayer component to F.E.A.R. Pretty fun shooter and worth wasting a couple days playing with your friends.

 

Combat Arms (click here for link) is a free multiplayer FPS. This game is pretty unique in that there is A LOT of player character and weapon customization.

Battlefield Heroes (click here for link) is an upcoming EA cartoon shooter that is A LOT of fun. The strong points of this game are player character customization and FUN. It's a blast to play (Oops! as I am bound to a NDA, I can't say that.)
